AVION was Airstream’s biggest competitor back in the day. They are a very high-quality trailer built with riveted construction for long life and durability. The exterior of this vintage Avion is mostly original and in pretty nice shape. It has the 13 panel and caps on the front and rear which are in very nice condition. This has the anodized aluminum exterior skin, which is much more maintenance free than a polish trailer.
Bumper, frame, and A-frame. This trailer has a 2“ x 6“ steel tube frame with the extra center frame rail, going down the very middle of the trailer. The front A-frame has some surface rust but all appears to be good and solid. The driver side frame rail has some severe rust behind the rear wheels and the driver side of the rear bumper is bent up.
Dents, scratches and damage. The worst damage is on the driver side bottom wraps, which has some oxidation and scrape marks. Otherwise the body is very straight and pretty much dent-free. Entry door. Underbelly. Has the original aluminum underbelly, which is in good shape. Does have some very small holes and underbelly on passenger side rear is torn and dented up.
