EXTERIOR
The exterior of this vintage Vagabond is very original, very intact and very complete. The exterior skin is all aluminum with the exception of the bottom wraps in the front and the corner bottom wraps in the rear. Vagabond was a very high-quality trailer which often competed with Spartan back in the day.
Frame and A-frame. Has some surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid in all areas assessable for inspection.
Compartment doors. Yes, there is a rear trunk door, which is complete with latch but has no keys.
Dents, damage and scratches. Worst damage is on the bottom wraps which have some dents, holes and flaws. Other than that, the main body only has very minor dents and dings. This trailer was originally painted so any small imperfections could be filled before it is painted.
Entry door front. Has the original aluminum entry door. There is a small wrinkle on the bottom corner and there are three small screw holes on the edge of the door. Door window is plexiglass. Has the original Bargman brand L 66 lock but there are no keys. Door will need new seals.
Entry door rear. Has the original aluminum rear door. Door window is plexiglass. Door skin is in very good condition. Door will need new seals. Has the original Bargman brand L-66 lock, but no keys.
Front screen door. Has the original sliding wood screen door which functions fine but pulls in and out hard. It probably just need to be lubricated.
Rear screen door. Has the original wood screen door, which is in good condition.
Steps. Both the front and rear door have the original steel slide out steps, which are in good working condition.
Front hoist. Has a newer top wind hoist, which is in working condition.
Hitch coupler. Has the original Marvel brand hitch coupler which is in working condition.
Roof and vents. Has the original aluminum roof which has no apparent damage. There are a few vents that were missing the caps which we have covered just to keep water out. Looks like the roof seems have had sealer or tar applied at one time but need more attention.
Exterior lights. Has the original four marker lights with glass lenses and steel bezels. All glass lenses appear to be in good condition. Has the original Bargman Trail-Lite #2 tail lights with glass lenses. One glass lens looks to be good but the other lens is cracked. Has the original Bargman license plate light. Both red lens and clear cylinder lens are in good condition. Exterior lights have not been tested so temporary tow light should be added in the rear to tow it home safely. We can supply these if needed. Underbelly. These originally had an insulation board type underbelly, which did not hold up real well in time. We usually just the tear off the old insulation board, then undercoat the bottom side of the trailer.
Windows. Has the original Woodlin style aluminum windows. The window glass on the door side windows of the trailer have been replaced with Plexiglas. All the other windows are real glass. Several of the windows are missing interior hardware.
INTERIOR
The interior of this trailer is mostly original. It still has the original stove and refrigerator but original furnace is missing.
Cabinet and closet doors. Has the original birch cabinet doors, closet doors and drawers. One closet door is delaminating at the top.
Hardware. Has the original hardware.
Countertops. Has the original countertop which is in fair to poor condition.
Floor. Appears to be solid in the majority of the trailer. I did find a soft spot under the window in the bedroom area.
Floor covering. Has both carpet and linoleum which is in poor condition.
Table. Yes has a very cool vintage wood gate leg table. Veneer is peeling on one of the leafs.
Unit sleeps. There is room for up to four persons to sleep.
Walls. Has all the original Birch walls and ceiling, but the living room and kitchen area has been painted or wallpapered. There is water damage on both the ceiling and the walls, mainly underneath the windows.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the exception of newer tires. Trailer was towed approximately 600 miles with no issues but wheel bearings should be inspected and repacked for any long trip.
Axles and springs. Has original tandem axles with surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid.
Dry weight. Approximately 6600#
Hit ball height, approximately 20 inches.
Safety chains. Yes.
Hitch weight. Approximately 660#
Hitch ball size. 2 inch.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No.
Tire condition. Has 7:00-15 eight ply biased tires mounted on newer non-split rims with five lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle. Tires are older but appear to be in good condition but do have some minor weather checking.
FURNISHINGS
Couch. Has what I believe is the original click clack couch/ love seat. The seat and the backrest fold down like a regular click click couch, then there is another pull out mattress from underneath that basically folds out into a 48” wide bed. The bed did fold out fine, but was a little tight so may just needs to be lubricated.
Curtains. No. Does have a few newer, mini blinds.
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical system with two automatic reset circuit breakers. All of the lights and outlets are in working condition. Entire electrical system should be checked by a certified expert before use.
110 V lights. Yes.
Plug for exterior lights. No. Temporary tow lights will need to be added to the rear of the trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Porch light. Yes. Has the original porch light, however the glass lens does have some internal cracks but no glasses missing. Porch light is in working condition.
RV battery. No
LP SYSTEM
Most of the original LP system is missing, but most of these items should be replaced anyway for safety reasons. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
Furnace. No.
Gas bottles. No.
Gas regulator. No.
Range oven. Yes, has the original AB brand 20 inch stove with four burners on top and oven on bottom. Oven is untested.
Refrigerator. Yes, has the original Marvel brand refrigerator. Refrigerator is very dirty on the inside and is untested.
Water heater. Yes, has an older water heater which is 110 V but is untested.
PLUMBING
Has the original plumbing with copper and brass lines. Some of the drain lines are disconnected so I would plan on redoing the plumbing. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
